A collection of 14 songs for even more teaching ideas. You may recognise some of the melodies but the lyrics have been changed to give the song another purpose.
Tracks include:
- Wave Hello – greeting song in English. Compare with Welcome Everyone, and Welcome Everyone - gap track (Stay and Play album) for using other languages.
- A Ring on the Floor – using a hoop or shaker ring for positional language.
- Bean Bag Balance – balancing a bean bag on different body parts.
- Coloured Shapes – developing visual figure ground by tracing around triangles, squares and rectangles.
- Fireworks Dancing – creative dancing using short ribbon shakers made of raffia or ribbon strips.
- Hey Hey Hey – Raffia – using raffia or short ribbon shakers to dance then stop.
- I Have a Little Puppet – using a hand puppet to hold a beater and play the drum, softly, loudly, slowly and quickly.
- Making Some Music – playing an instrument then passing it (delete on) around the circle.
- Over My Leg – using a puppet or small soft toy to jump over or wriggle under different body parts.
- Play The Groove – groups of instruments playing and improvising in different styles.
- Shaker Shuffle Street – using shaker rings on different body parts and even as shoes.
- Splinka Dinka – Play – using instruments to play in different ways.
- The Guiro Thing – playing a short length of drainage pipe as a guiro, and playing in different ways.
